Holy grail of US roots reggae released in 1979. Old-style tip-on sleeve replicating the original sleeve. More Relation started in 1977 in New York as a backup band for reggae artists such as Melodians, Larry Marshall, Carlton Coffee, and Ken Boothe, but soon they started crafting their own melodic & deep roots reggae. They released many now sought-after singles such as "The Light", "Solve Them" and one self-titled album.

ON THE ROCK is a cornerstone of the group formed by WISS, APPLE, and SKELLY. Recorded and mixed at Leggo's Studio (Kingston, Jamaica) with the new version of Roots Radics, featuring: Flabba Holt (Bass), Dwight Pinkney (Guitar), Carl Ayton (Drums), Steve Golding (Guitar), and T-Bird Johnson (Piano).
An evolution in sound, this album sounds much heavier, much bigger. It is also much more produced, which opened the doors to international success for the group, leading to a marathon tour in Europe and the United States, and then in South America. This album includes the very powerful Rudeboy Shufflin and of course the very emblematic On The Rock, both of which are significant tracks in the group's history.
