Essential reissue for this rare album of dub instrumental reggae tunes recorded by Tommy McCook (on sax, The Skatalites) and Bobby Ellis (trumpet, The Upsetters, The Aggrovators) in 1977. Originally licensed  on Grove Music this amazing set features the likes of Sly and Robbie, Ansel Collins (organ), Clinton Fearon- from The Gladiators - on lead guitar and Bernard Harvey – of The Wailers fame - on piano. Recorded at Channel One and mixed at King Tubby Studio, the album was  engineered by Yabby You and Barnabas.

‘What if Lee Perry and Lex Baxter have been caught in a firetrap altogether ?’ A weird experiment in dub & reggae coined in 1973, the sole album of this interstellar venture was a case in point. Jamaican rhythms (provided by the almighty Trojan records crew) with legendary prog/psych keyboardist KEN ELLIOT (former member of influential british bands such as Second Hand and Seventh Wave) creating groovy instrumental on top ! 10 tracks including the JOE MEEK classic Telstar for a space-age trip that sounds like a highly-stoned caribbean easy listening session. A truly gem on its own, incredible strange music for the suburbs!

The group formed by the legendary Joseph Hill, accompanied by his two acolytes Albert Walker and Kenneth Dayes, delivers an album recorded at Mixing Lab and mixed at the Lion & Fox studio (reference studio for the RAS label) in 1989.
Recorded with 3 brass instruments, bass, drums, keyboards and percussion, it's in the pure roots tradition, with a few interesting dub twists. There's also a tribute to Bob Marley entitled ‘Psalm of Bob Marley’ and the excellent ‘Cousin Rude Boy’.

The city of Bristol has undoubtedly a rich reggae heritage. The criminally neglected Talisman finally benefits of a long overdue release, collecting their first efforts plus a series of extra tracks. You’ll get their first two singles released on Recreational Records – Run Come Girl/Wicked Dem and Dole Age/Free Speech, both released in 1981 – plus a selection of five long lost contribution. Originally formed in 1977 as Revelation Rockers, a name they soon changed, Talisman were considered the top reggae act in town alongside local contemporaries Black Roots. The band – popular for their intense live shows – opened for such glorious and diverse acts as Burning Spear, The Clash and The Rolling Stones! This proper release on vinyl allows a new generation of fans to catch with their original style.
